NEW HELPLINE SERVICES FOR MEMBERS
A new helpline service for ACM members is being launched next month.
The helpline will deal specifically with enquiries on employment relations
issues, whether as an employee or in your individual capacity as a manager.
The aim is to make the helpline the first point of contact for ACM members
in need of employment relations advice.
The helpline will be open to telephone callers between 9.30am and 4.30pm
Monday to Friday, with an answerphone service available outside of these
hours. Alternatively, you can access
the helpline by e-mail or fax.
The Associations new staff, Employment Officer David Green, and
Legal Advisor and Caseworker, Kavita Bachada, will be running the service.
Our aim is to provide professional and reliable advice on all
your employment issues. Said David.
Advice available will be wide-ranging, covering matters like employment
rights, best practice, procedures; and information on various employment
topics. Because the service will be there to help you resolve your problem,
David and Kavita will also explore various options with you for taking
the matter forward.
Our aim is to provide professional and reliable
advice on all your employment issues.
David Green, Employment Officer
David added, We will try to help you straight away, but more complicated
matters may require some research. Sometimes we may also direct you
to various publications as a source of further information, or to the
new employment relations leaflets being put on the ACM web site.
Clearly some problems will need face to face contact and representation.
So where necessary, members contacting the helpline will be assigned
a caseworker to help resolve their particular problem. Indeed, ACMs
widely respected caseworker service remains unchanged. The helpline
is simply a first stop for members problems.
All calls will be treated confidentially. This service is designed for
individual ACM members only.
We will not take calls on behalf of boards, personnel departments or
other corporate bodies.
The new ACM helpline will go live in November. The number will be advertised
widely, together with the start date, via the ACM newsletter, web site
and flyers. In the meantime, David and Kavita can be contacted on the
main ACM telephone number (0116 275 5076).
