Universities & Colleges Personal Healthcare Plan

Introduced to members of the Association some years ago, members now have the opportunity of joining, and as a special concession to members of ACM, those who become subscribers before the 30th June 2002, will do so on “medical history being disregarded”, a valuable concession which is not generally available in respect of such cover. Applications after this date will be fully underwritten.
This Plan, underwritten by PPP Healthcare and originally introduced to the higher & further education sector in 1981 currently provides valuable cover to over 8000 members and their families.

Universities & Colleges Healthcare Cash Plan

Recently introduced as an alternative to the Personal Healthcare Plan, the Universities & Colleges Healthcare Cash Plan arranged with Healthsure provides an affordable, com-prehensive and flexible range of benefits for you and your family to help meet the cost of everyday healthcare needs. Cash benefits are available for many routine medical and associated treatments.

The benefits have been tailored specifically for employees in higher & further education and provide exceptional and unrivalled value.
As a special concession members who elect to become subscribers before the 30th June will do so on “medical history being disregarded”. Applications received after this date will not enjoy this concession.

Members will find further details of both these offers in this month’s issue of the ACM News together with an enquiry form in respect of the Personal Healthcare Plan and an application form in respect of the Healthcare Cash Plan.
Further information can be obtained from Jardine Lloyd Thompson Healthcare on 01628 470304.

Alternatively specific enquiries in respect of the Healthcare Cash Plan should be directed to Healthsure on 0161 234 2800.

New Branch E-mail Service

We plan to introduce a new e-mail service for branches. The aim is to keep local ACM representatives, branch chairs and secretaries fully informed on ACM and wider union issues. The service will provide items of news or interest on employment relations issues, recruitment, branch organisation and ACM services.

The mailing list will be drawn up from our existing branch database. However, if you hold branch office, and have not yet notified us of your email address, please get in touch by sending a message to admin@acm.uk.com
